I have also cried at the starlings nesting in the neighbours roof. Also, I saw a bunch of them using somebody’s clearly blocked gutter as a bird bath yesterday that made me laugh
I am sitting here with a chest infection, much like your Covid, and the starlings outside on my feeders lifted me so and led me to this post! I was in awe today of how well they blend into the Pyracantha, so disguised in their plumage! Thank you!
Yes, I enjoy your posts, Hari. As another average individual living in the city working out how to find awe in nature, I truly appreciate what you are trying to achieve here. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Keep blogging, and feel better soon!
Lovely post! I love Starlings too. A couple of years ago, a woodland near to where I live in Edinburgh, was destroyed to make way for a cyclepath. This was obviously very bad news, including for the starlings. On the other hand, we really benefited, as for one year the starlings moved their roost to the trees across the road from us and we saw them murmurating every evening for a whole winter. They've now moved on somewhere else, but I'll never forget that winter.
